@ButlerMenSoccer's Spring Schedule Includes Strong Competition

On the heels of an impressive 2017 season, coach Paul Snape has placed a challenging spring slate in front of the Bulldogs.

Butler will face four Big Ten Conference opponents in addition to Oakland University and Eastern Illinois.

The spring schedule kicks off on Saturday, March 3, with a contest against Northwestern at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind. The match is slated to begin at 10 a.m.

The Bulldogs will travel to Pontiac, Mich. on March 24 to take on Michigan State and Oakland. The pair of matches at Ultimate Sports Arena are slated for 12:20 p.m. and 1:55 p.m., respectively.

The team will face in-state foe Indiana on April 13 at Grand Park (7 p.m. start).

Eastern Illinois will make the trip to Indianapolis to face the Bulldogs on April 15 at the Sellick Bowl for a 1 p.m. start.

The series of games concludes on April 21 in Chicago, Ill. against Wisconsin. The match is slated for Noon (EST) at Toyota Park.

The Bulldogs were 14-5-2 overall and 8-1-0 in the BIG EAST last fall.  Behind wins over Lipscomb and No. 16 seed VCU, Butler matched the best NCAA Tournament finish in program history, making the final 16 teams as they also did in 1995 and 1998.

Snape and his staff, who led the Bulldogs to a regular season BIG EAST championship, return eight starters and players who scored 30 of the team's 31 goals this season.
