Butler had its seven-match winning streak snapped Saturday night at Purdue with a 4-2 result. Including a win over Green Bay earlier in the day, the Bulldogs are now 8-3 on the season.
Â
Purdue improves to 5-6.
Â
The Bulldogs got out to a strong start by taking the doubles point.
Michael Dickson and
Spencer Lang combined for a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles, while
Ari Gerstein and
Adrian Mag won 6-3 at the No. 3 spot.
Â
Dickson would also register a 6-2, 6-3 singles win on the fourth court. That proved to be Butler's only win in singles play as Purdue captured four matches in straight sets and one went unfinished.
Â
Butler returns to action on their annual Spring Break trip. That first match is set for March 13 in Orlando, Fla., playing Fairleigh Dickinson.
