Butler ran its winning streak to seven straight with a 4-2 win over Green Bay Saturday morning in West Lafayette, Ind. The Bulldogs are now 8-2 on the season.
The Bulldogs got out to a 1-0 lead by taking the doubles point.
Aviv Ben Shabat and
Mason Dragos won on the first court, while
Ari Gerstein and
Adrian Mag followed suit at No. 3 doubles.
Green Bay briefly tied the match by taking the No. 1 singles match. Butler quickly responded with straight-set wins by
Spencer Lang and
Michael Dickson at the No. 3 and No. 4 singles positions. After Green Bay pulled within 3-2 with a win at No. 2 singles, it was junior
Adrian Mag would clinch the match for the Bulldogs.
At No. 5 singles, Mag had won the first set 6-3 against Green Bay's Miles McDowall before dropping the second set, 6-1. Mag would steamroll to the win with a 6-0 third set. That also gave the Bulldogs a 4-2 win.
The Bulldogs return to action later Saturday afternoon, meeting Purdue in West Lafayette. Live streaming and live scoring for the match will be available.
