LEXINGTON, S.C. – The Butler baseball team is now 8-0 on the year after defeating George Mason on Sunday by the final score of 3-0.
Garrett Christman hit a three-run bomb in the top of the sixth inning to secure the win.
Harrison Freed doubled down the left field line in the sixth with a man on base to put two Bulldogs into scoring position. The next swing of the bat would win the game as Christman went deep off Tim Turner. Christman was one of three Bulldogs to record two hits in the game. BU had nine hits as a team while
Sam Hubbe limited the Patriots to just two.
Hubbe was credited with the win by throwing all seven innings for Butler. He struck out four and only walked two. The shutout win over seven innings would mark his first win of the season.
Butler will return to action next weekend with three games in Osceola, Fla. The 'Dawgs will play Saint Peter's twice and Pittsburgh once.
