Butler is in eighth after 36 holes at the Islander Classic hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The 11 teams will finish off the event Tuesday with a final 18 holes.

Kelsey McDougall is the top Bulldog after the first two rounds. She is tied for 16th with a total of 11-over 155. She followed up her first round 77 with a second-round 78 on the par-72, 6,092-yard Corpus Christi Country Club course.

Lauren Tibbets (+13; 78-79—157) is in a tie for 23rd. Abigail Gleixner (+17, T-33), Rachel Gathof (+20, T-42), and Betsy Werner (+37, 59th) round out the Butler five.

Butler shot a first-round 316, followed by a team score of 321 in the second round. That is eighth in the field.

St. Mary's (Texas) leads the event with a 36-hole team score of 603 (+27). They have a three-stroke lead over host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Hannah Alberto of Sam Houston State has a one-shot individual lead. She is one-over through 36 holes.

Tuesday's play is scheduled for a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The teams will play 18 holes to finish the event.
