@ButlerMBB to Make Fourth Consecutive NCAA Tournament Appearance

Butler learned its 2018 NCAA Tournament destination and opponent Sunday night as the NCAA Men's Basketball Committee released the official bracket. Butler will travel to Detroit, Mich., as a No. 10 seed, facing off with No. 7 seed Arkansas on Friday.

Friday's game will air on truTV. The tip will be at approximately 3:10 p.m. (Eastern), following the conclusion of the Purdue-Cal State Fullerton game that begins at 12:40 p.m.

This is Butler's fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. LaVall Jordan guided the Bulldogs to the tournament in his first season as Butler's head coach.

Arkansas is 23-11 on the season and finished sixth in the SEC regular season. The Razorbacks fell to Florida in the SEC Tournament semifinals. If Butler were to win on Friday, the Bulldogs would play the winner of No. 2 seed Purdue and No. 15 Cal State Fullerton. The four teams are in the East Region, which features Villanova as the No. 1 seed.

The Bulldogs are 20-13 on the season. Butler is coming off a trip to the BIG EAST Tournament semifinals, the first in program history.

The BIG EAST placed six teams in the 2018 NCAA Tournament field as Butler joined Villanova, Creighton, Seton Hall, Providence, and Xavier.

Butler's season-long resume includes wins against Villanova, Creighton, Seton Hall, and Providence. The Bulldogs also have non-conference wins over Ohio State and Utah.

Butler has been in the field for 10 of the last 12 NCAA Tournaments, only missing out in 2012 and 2014. This is Butler's 16th NCAA Tournament and the Bulldogs have a 23-15 all-time mark in tournament play. After appearing in the 1962 NCAA Tournament, 15 appearances have come in the last 22 years.

The Bulldogs are 10-1 in their last 11 first round contests in the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs' most recent loss came in 2009.

The Butler Ticket Office will have information on tickets Monday morning.
