Michael Denner tied for second at the Butler-hosted 
Don Benbow Invitational at the Blue Sky Golf Club in Jacksonville, Fla. Denner carded a 68 Tuesday after firing a 74 on Monday.
Denner's 68 was Tuesday's best round by two shots. Denner finished at two-under 142 for the tournament, one stroke behind Albany State's Tyler Hanson (71-70—141).
Denner played as an individual; Butler's scoring five placed second in the four-team field. The Bulldogs posted rounds of 305 and 289. The team's Tuesday score of 289 was the best in the event.
Patrick Allgeier was fourth overall at 144 (74-70). He and Hanson were the two players to shoot 70 on Tuesday. 
Logan Sabins was sixth at 146 (74-72). 
Michael Cascino (77-71—148; T-7
th), 
Augie Hartnagel (80-76—156; T-17
th), and 
Ricky Kuiper (82-82—164; 25
th) rounded out the Butler competitors.
IUPUI won the event with a two-day total of 588; the Jaguars shot 295 Monday to take a nine-stroke lead into the final 18. IUPUI shot 293 Tuesday to hold off the Bulldogs. Nathan Cunningham tied for second individually to lead IUPUI.
The Bulldogs continue play in Florida over Spring Break. Butler will host the Bulldog Florida Invitational beginning Wednesday at Windsor Parke Golf Club in Jacksonville.
