The Bulldogs got off to a strong start on their annual Spring Break trip, registering a 5-2 win over Fairleigh Dickinson Tuesday afternoon. The match was played at Sanlando Park near Orlando, Fla.
Butler is now 9-3 on the spring season.Â
Coach Parker Ross adjusted his line-up with the Bulldogs playing three matches in a condensed window.
Mason Dragos and
Aviv Ben Shabat took straight-set wins on the top two courts.
Michael Dickson moved up to the third spot and won a 6-2, 6-1 decision over Andris Gudins.
Adrian Mag, playing up at the No. 4 spot, also won in straight sets.
Sam Sullivan and
Addison Cazier played at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots. Cazier won in a third-set match tiebreaker over Miki Nobuzawa.
Fairleigh Dickinson took the doubles point to open the match.
Spencer Lang,
Ari Gerstein and
Lope Adelakun each saw action in doubles with the No. 3 team of Lang and Adelakun winning 6-1.
Butler continues play in Florida with a Thursday match against Southern Mississippi. That match will be played at the USTA National Tennis Center.
