Butler's
Kelsey McDougall and
Lauren Tibbets tied for second individually at the Butler-hosted Benbow Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla., that concluded Tuesday.
McDougall, Tibbets and Linda Wang of St. John's each finished at 147, but Wang won the event via a tiebreaker.
McDougall shot 71 Tuesday, following up a round of 76 in Monday's opening round. Her 71 was the round of the day Tuesday on the 6,102-yard, par-72 Blue Sky Golf Club.
Tibbets finished at 147 after an even-par 72 Monday and a 75 Tuesday.
As a team, Butler finished second, trailing only BIG EAST foe St. John's. The Red Storm shot 606 (306-300), which was six shots better than Butler's 612 (305-307).
Abigail Gleixner tied for ninth at 155 (76-79).
Rachel Gathof (81-82—163) and
Betsy Werner (85-83—168) finished in ties for 27th and 35th, respectively.
Playing as an individual,
Allison Kinsinger shot a 168 (86-82) and tied for 35th.
Butler's second-place finish came in a 10-team field. Quinnipiac and Lehigh finished third and fourth, respectively.
The Bulldogs continue play in Florida over Spring Break. Butler will host the Bulldog Florida Invitational beginning Wednesday at Windsor Parke Golf Club in Jacksonville.
