ORLANDO, Fla. – The Butler women's tennis team took a 6-1 setback to Southern Miss on Wednesday afternoon.
Emily Neal picked up a win at No. 3 singles and the No. 1 doubles team of
Bailey Padgett and
Jordan Minnick were also victorious.
Padgett and Minnick won 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, but the point would go to Southern Miss after a 6-4 win at No. 2 and a 7-5 decision at No. 3.
Rachel Sutton and
Emily Neal paired up at No. 2.
Natale Corrigan and
Lauren Marx represented BU at No. 3.
Singles action was highlighted by Neal who defeated Lopez 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3.
Nina Bertino and
Rachel Sutton were shutout on Wednesday. Bertino was lined up at the No. 4 spot and Sutton played No. 2 singles.
No. 1 singles went to Padgett who fell 6-2, 6-3.
Callie Schmit played at No. 6 singles, taking a 6-2, 6-1 loss. Rounding out the action was Marx at No. 5 singles (6-2, 6-1).
