Meet Schedule
The Bulldogs will open the outdoor portion of their track and field schedule Saturday, hosting the Stan Lyons Invitational on the Butler campus.
Butler will be joined by Ball State, Dayton, Indiana, IUPUI, Loyola, Marian, Northern Kentucky, Taylor, Evansville, Wright State, and Xavier.
Field events begin at 11 a.m., with competition on the track set for 1 p.m.
Lyons was a national champion in the pole vault during his collegiate days at Ohio State. He made a tremendous impact on Butler's track and cross country teams which he coached for 30 seasons, prior to retiring in 1995. He guided Butler to eight conference track and field championships and five league cross country crowns. He was honored 13 times as Coach of the Year in the Heartland Collegiate Conference (and its predecessor, the Indiana Collegiate Conference).
Butler has been off from competition since late February when the Bulldogs competed in the 2018 BIG EAST Indoor Championships.
On the men's side,
Daniel Garcia,
Barry Keane, and Wade
Walder earned All-BIG EAST honors in multiple events at those championships.
Kyle Harris,
Evan Johnson, and Graham
Stecz achieved All-BIG EAST accolades with their single-event performances.
Niki Ezeh earned All-BIG EAST accolades in the pentathlon on the women's side.
