After a strong showing at the Butler-hosted Stan Lyons Invitational, the Butler track and field team travels to Nashville, Tenn., to compete in the Black and Gold Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt.
The Bulldogs are among more than 500 competitors from 15 teams participating in the meet, which takes place March 23-24, at the Vanderbilt Track and Field Complex. The meet opens Friday with field events beginning at 4 p.m. and a limited schedule of track events from 5-8 p.m. On Saturday, field events begin at 10 a.m., with activities on the track starting at noon.
Coming off a 2
nd place performance in the 100 meters at the Stan Lyons Invitational,
Tim Vestuto returns to action running the 100 and 200 meters.
Jake Kellersohn, who placed first in the 100 meters, runs in the 200 meters.
Graham Stecz looks to build off a first place finish in the 400 meters and a second place finish in the 200 meters. The senior competes in those two events again this weekend.
Butler's top three finishers in the javelin,
Wade Walder,
Richard Clark, and
Matt Fisch represent the Bulldogs in the event this weekend. Walder will also compete in the 110 meter hurdles and pole vault.
On the women's side,
Carson Fields competes in the 100 and 200 meters after finishing second in the 100 meters at the Stan Lyons Invitational.
Niki Ezeh, an All-BIG EAST indoor finisher in the pentathlon, represents Butler in the 200 meters and shot put.
Allie Vogeler, the current Butler record holder in the 400 meter hurdles, looks to beat her record-setting time of 1:00.19 in the hurdles.
