Shawn Chaffee Joins @ButlerUFootball as Defensive Ends Coach

Shawn Chaffee will join the Butler football staff as the defensive ends coach, head coach Jeff Voris announced on Wednesday, March 7. Chaffee joins the Bulldogs after serving as a graduate assistant at Ball State.

"Shawn brings a ton of experience to our staff," Voris said.  "He has worked with a bunch of really good coaches and will fit great with the Butler Way.  We can't wait for him to get started this spring."

Chaffee has served on the Ball State staff since 2016, coaching the linebackers and defensive line, and charting offensive plays and tendencies.

Chaffee began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Westminster College in 2013. During his time there, he coached the defensive line, and was also the assistant strength and conditioning coordinator and the assistant academic coordinator.

After leaving Westminster College, Chaffee took a graduate assistant position at Carthage College, coaching the defensive line and defensive backs. Chaffee worked at Methodist University from 2015-16 as the academic coordinator. He also coached the defensive line and linebackers.

A graduate of the College of Wooster in 2013, Chaffee earned his Bachelor of Arts in History and was a three-year starter for the Fighting Scots. Chaffee also served as captain his senior year.
