INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana State Sycamores scored seven of their 11 runs in the top of the third inning to claim an 11-4 victory against Butler on Tuesday night. The game at Victory Field was played under the lights in front of 827 fans.

Harrison Freed highlighted the night for Butler with a monster home run to straight-away centerfield. The homer was tracked at 410 feet and tied the ballgame at 1-1.

Butler added two runs in the bottom of the third with
Zach Jarosz and
Duncan Hewitt both crossing home plate. Each run went down unearned in part to a throwing error that allowed
Tyler Houston to reach base.

Butler's final run would come around to score in the fourth.
Connor Dall doubled with two out and Jarosz would record an RBI single through the left side to score his teammate.

Jarosz and Dall each recorded two hits. The BU hit total was rounded out by
Duncan Hewitt and Freed.

The loss went to freshman
Jack Myers (1-1) while the win was credited to Donnie Ames (3-1).

Butler will return to action this weekend with a three-game home series against BIG EAST rival Xavier.
