Nine Bulldogs – eight men and one woman – earned All-BIG EAST honors after their performances at the 2018 BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships over the weekend.
 
The BIG EAST awards All-BIG EAST accolades to individuals who finish in the top three of any particular event.
 
Wade Walder highlighted the Butler effort at the Championships, claiming the Championships' High Point Performer with 23 points. He was also named the Most Outstanding Field Performer. Walder won the decathlon, breaking his own school record in doing so. He was also second in the javelin throw.
 
Johnny Leverenz was the other Bulldog to be recognized for performances in multiple events. He won the 1,500 meters and was also part of the Bulldogs' 4x800 relay team that finished second. Sophomore Eric Baugh, graduate student Daniel Garcia, and freshman Chandler McGaha joined Leverenz on the 4x800 relay.
 
Richard Clark, a junior, was third in the decathlon. Seniors Matt Lumbar and Bobby Johnson placed second and third, respectively, in the 10,000 meters.
 
On the women's side, Allie Vogeler earned All-BIG EAST honors in the 400-meter hurdles. She broke her own Butler mark in winning the event. Vogeler also won the event at the 2017 outdoor championships.
