LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association has announced that 389 student-athletes from 164 programs have received 2018 NFCA Division I All-Region accolades. Outfielder
Jenna Foreman earned a spot on the second team All-Mideast Region.
Foreman led the Bulldogs in batting average (.371), hits (63) stolen bases (35), and runs (31). Her 35 stolen bases on 38 attempts are a new Butler school record and led the BIG EAST. The junior's 63 hits also set a new Butler record and rank third in the BIG EAST, while her .371 batting average is good for sixth. The outfielder also earned a spot on the All-BIG EAST second team for the second straight year.
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2018 NFCA Division I All-American squads.
Villanova shortstop Brittany Husk was also named to the second team in the Mideast Region
In the Great Lakes Region BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year Pat Moore of DePaul and Player of the Year Krystal Puga of St. John's garnered First Team honors. BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year Gretchen Bowie found her name on the Second Team, while Creighton's Sam Crowley, DePaul's Morgan Greenwood and St. John's Kaitlin Mattera were listed on the Third Team.
The 2018 NFCA Division I All-America teams will be announced at approximately 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 30, via NFCA.org.
