The Bulldogs make the short trip to Bloomington, Ind. Friday to compete in the Billy Hayes Invitational hosted by Indiana. This will be Butler's final tune-up before the BIG EAST Championships taking place May 11-12 in Geneva, Ohio.
Allie Vogeler looks to continue her record-breaking year as she topped her own Butler record in the 400 meters last weekend in Louisville, clocking a time of 56.65. She was fourth in her section. Her previous mark of 57.13 was set in 2017.
Freshman
Carson Fields was Butler's top performer in the 100 and 200 meters in Louisville, posting a Butler record-setting time 12.15 in the 100 meters, and running the 200 meters in 25.10. Fields also holds the record in the 200 meters with a clip of 24.72.
At the Bryan Clay Invitational, sophomore
Josephine Thestrup ran a time of 4:24.21 in the 1,500 meters, which is her best in a Butler uniform. Freshman
Camille Hines and
Kelly Mindak ran the fourth and fifth fastest 800-meter times in Butler history at Bryan Clay. Hines posted a blistering time of 2:11.25, while Mindak was only .03 behind at 2:11.28.
Wade Walder led the charge in the 110-meter hurdles at Louisville, with a personal-best time of 14.94. That time is the sixth-best time in Butler history. Walder also won the second section of the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 56.24. The sophomore received BIG EAST Honor Roll accolades for his performance.
Johnny Leverenz looks to continue his unbeaten streak in 2018. Leverenz toed the line for the 1,500 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted at Azusa Community College in California. Leverenz was able to win section 13 of the event, crossing the line in a lifetime-best time of 3:42.77, which is good for 28
th in the nation.
Graham Stecz, and
Jake Kellersohn look to build off solid performances last week in Louisville. Stecz ran a lifetime-best time of 49.57 in the 400 meters; Kellersohn won section four of the event, clocking in at 50.23.
