Kamar Baldwin capped the regular season Saturday night at Xavier with arguably the best performance of his Butler career. In doing so, he was selected as the BIG EAST Player of the Week. The conference office made the announcement Sunday, March 8.
Â
The senior guard poured in a career-high 36 points, including the game-winning three-pointer with just more than a second remaining, as Butler captured a 72-71 road win. Baldwin shot 13-of-25 and matched his career-high with five three-pointers (on only seven attempts). Baldwin also helped the Bulldogs to a Senior Night win over St. John's at Hinkle Wednesday. For the week, Baldwin averaged 24 points per game and 5.5 rebounds. He shot 49 percent from the field, including 6-of-9 from behind the arc.
Â
The weekly recognition is the second of the season (and the second of his career) for Baldwin, who was also honored Jan. 27.

The Bulldogs finished the regular season with a 22-9 record, including a 10-8 mark in BIG EAST play. Butler opens the 2020 BIG EAST Tournament as the No. 5 seed, and will match up with fourth-seeded Providence Thursday afternoon in the quarterfinals at Madison Square Garden.
