Following a fall season that saw the men's soccer, football and both cross country teams win championships, Butler posted a league-best 108 student-athletes on the Horizon League Fall Academic Honor Roll.
BU's 108 honorees led the league, followed by Milwaukee with 89, Loyola (83) and Youngstown State (72).
The Bulldog men's soccer team, which won the Horizon League regular championship and advanced to the NCAA tournament, had 14 players make the league's fall honor roll. Men's track & field and women's soccer each had 13 honorees, while women's track & field and softball posted 10 student-athletes.
Candidates for the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll must meet three criteria in order to qualify: participation in at least one of the Horizon League's 19 sports during the most recent (or current) season, completion of three semesters (or four quarters, where applicable) as a full-time student at the same member institution and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) as of Dec. 31, 2009.
