After another record-setting sales season, Butler University Athletics' marketing department has been honored by the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administators (NACMA). Butler was honored for electronic promotion, season ticket sales and a sales mailing piece.
Butler was selected by NACMA as a top three finalist to receive a 2010-11 'Best Of' award in three areas. Butler's honored electronic promotion was for a Facebook campaign dubbed the 'Biggest Little Fan' contest. Fans submitted photos of youngsters supporting Butler and then people were invited to 'Like' the photos on Facebook.
BU's winning season ticket sales campaign was also honored. Coming off its appearance in the 2010 NCAA Final Four, Butler men's basketball averaged a home attendance of 7,178, the program's highest mark in more than 40 seasons. The department also saw a 25 percent increase in men's basketball season ticket sales.
Butler was honored for its sales piece, 'Experience Hinkle This Season.' It was a mailing sent out to increase Butler basketball group ticket sales.
The NACMA award winners will be publicly recognized Friday, June 17 during NACMA's annual convention. The presentation will be held at the World Resort Marriott in Orlando, Fla.
