Butler University Athletics

Pat Page was brought to Butler in 1920 to raise the level of the athletics program. A basketball all-american in 1908 and 1909, Page coached under Alonzo Stagg at the University of Chicago. He came to Butler to coach all sports and be athletic director. In 1921, he brought Tony Hinkle to Butler to assist. Page's coaching records still rank among Butler's best: football (37-14-2), basketball (96-30). In 1962, Page was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
