Lambrecht Scores In 100 Fly To Lead Butler
BROWN DEER, Wis. - Lauren Lambrecht made the finals in the 100 butterfly to lead the Butler swimming team during the third day of the Horizon League Swimming & Diving Championships. She was the first Bulldog to score in the top 16 during the week.
Lambrecht clocked 59.85 in the 100 fly, good for 14th place. She was a third of a second out of 12th.
The night concluded with BU registering a season-best time of 8:06.40 in the 800 free relay (Caitlin Weichelt, Lauren Scotti, Kathleen Brannen, Eshan Pua). Weichelt's lead-off split of 1:57.83 led the team.
Earlier in the day, in the prelims, Weichelt had a good swim of 1:58.12 in the 200 free. She placed 17th, narrowly missing a spot in the finals. Rosalie Fidanze led Butler in the 100 breast with a season-best time of 1:10.26.
Four Bulldogs put up season bests in the 100 back, led by Hannah Somerville at a minute flat. She placed 20th overall.
After three days, the Bulldogs still stand eighth in the team standings. Milwaukee, the meet host, leads both the men's and women's standings.
