Butler Ends Calendar Year With Record-Breaking Performances
In IUPUI's House of Champions meet, the Bulldogs' final event before the New Year, 10 Butler swimmers achieved lifetime-best marks and all but one recoreded a season-best time.
Freshman Elizabeth Miller was one of six Bulldogs to enter the Butler record book by posting an All-Time Top 10 time (see chart below).
Miller finished 11th in the 1650 Freestyle competition with a time of 18:19.90, the best time in program history in nearly two decades. Elizabeth Duncan, Butler's all-time leader in the event, notched a time of 17:47.40 in 1994.
Freshman Amanda Wagner was one of four Butler swimmers to finish in the Top 10 during the event, finishing seventh in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:08.86. Wagner posted a team-best 1:07.67 in the event's prelims.
Three Bulldogs finished eighth in their respective events: sophomore Megan Boebinger in the 200 Butterfly, junior Lauren Lambrecht in the 100 Butterfly, and senior Katie Ring in the 100 Backstroke.
All five of Butler's relay teams placed in the Top 10 with the 200 Medley Relay, 400 Medley Relay and 800 Freestyle Relay teams each finishing ninth.
The 200 Freestyle and 400 Freestyle Relay teams both finished 10th.
Butler placed sixth overall in the three-day event.
The Bulldogs will next be in action Jan. 19 when they travel to Springfield, Ohio for a dual meet with Centre College and host Wittenberg University.
