Relay Teams Stand Out For Butler In Meet's First Day

INDIANAPOLIS - The Butler swimming team got season-best performances from the 200 free relay and 400 medley relay teams to lead the Bulldogs at IUPUI's House of Champions meet on Friday.

"We had a strong first day of the meet, and I am proud of how our swimmers raced today which resulted in many season and lifetime bests," head coach Maurice Stewart said. "We need to carry this momentum into the rest of the meet in order to have a chance of finishing 5th in the team standings."

Both BU free relay squads posted new season standards to begin the meet. The Bulldogs, led by Serena Daley's split of 24.84, went 1:41.91. At the end of the day, BU's 400 medley relay team registered a time of 4:08.28.

Elizabeth Miller led the Dawgs in the 500 free, clocking 5:17.16 to place 15th. Five other Butler swimmers set new season bests in the event.

Allie Dvorchak had a liftetime-best 2:18.49 in the 200 IM prelims. She ended up placing 24th. Daley posted a lifetime-best 25.18 in the 50 free. Four other swimmers also had season bests.
