Seven Butler Athletes Head To NCAA Track Preliminary Round
Butler junior Katie Clark qualified in two events and sophomore Tom Curr earned a repeat appearance at the 2013 NCAA Division I Track and Field East Prliminary Round, being held in Greensboro, N.C., Thursday-Saturday (May 23-25). The two were among seven Butler athletes who qualified for the regional round.

Katie Clark, Kodi Mullins Earn A-10 Academic Honors
Butler runners Katie Clark and Kodi Mullins have been named to the 2013 Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference Team, released by the conference office on Thursday, May 16. The Academic All-Conference Team included ten male and ten female athletes, who were chosen based on their athletic achievement and classroom performance.

Butler Men Third, Women Tenth At A-10 Championship
Butler’s picked up five individual titles and a couple of runner-up finishes in its Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship debut in Charlotte, N.C. The Bulldogs wound up placing third in the men’s competition and tenth in the women’s meet at the league championship, which wrapped up on Sunday (May 5).

Butler Track Set For A-10 Championship
Butler’s track and field squads will look to add to an already strong outdoor season when they make their first appearance in the Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday, May 4, in Charlotte, N.C. The two-day league championship is being hosted by Charlotte at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center.

Distance Runners Lead Butler
Butler’s distance crew took center stage at the Stan Lyons Invitational on Saturday (April 27), leading the Bulldogs to five individual wins in the nine-team event. The competition was Butler’s lone home meet of the 2013 outdoor season.

Katie Clark Earns Conference Track Honor
Butler’s Katie Clark, coming off a record-setting performance at the Mt. Sac Relays, has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Performer of the Week. The Butler junior, who shared the league’s weekly award with Kiara Porter of VCU, became Butler’s first outdoor track athlete to be recognized by the A-10.

Butler’s track and field teams will have a busy weekend with squad members competing at meets in California and Indiana. The Bulldogs will have a handful of athletes entered in the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif., with the bulk of the squad headed to Bloomington to compete in the Polytan Invitational.

One school record and several top individual efforts highlighted the performance of Butler’s track and field squads at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Saturday. The meet at Cincinnati’s Gettler Stadium wrapped up a successful opening weekend for the Bulldogs.

Katie Clark Sets School Mark
Junior Katie Clark, making her 2013 outdoor debut, set a high standard for her final campaign with her opening performance at the Sanford Invitational on Friday (March 29). The Butler All-American shattered Butler’s 10,000 meter record in her first attempt at the distance.

Head coach Matt Roe will send several competitors to the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., on Friday evening and a larger contingent to the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Saturday.

Butler Men Fourth, Women Ninth At A-10 Indoor Championship
Junior Craig Jordan and sophomores Tom Curr and Mara Olson captured individual titles to lead Butler in its first Atlantic 10 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship, which concluded on Sunday, Feb. 17, at the University of Rhode Island. Butler’s men placed fourth in a 12-team field, while Butler’s women came in ninth of 14 squads.

Mara Olson Earns Atlantic 10 Conference Honor
Butler sophomore Mara Olson turned in a top individual performance at an elite indoor competition, and her effort earned her Atlantic 10 Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week honors. She was one of four athletes recognized by the A-10 for performances during the week of Feb. 4-10.
