Kent Wories, Andy Baker Named Academic All-America
Butler track and cross country athletes Kent Wories and Andy Baker have been named to the 2008-09 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team, chosen by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). The two distance runners were named to the second team of the University Division Men’s Track and Field/Cross Country academic honor squad.

Andy Baker, Kent Wories Named Academic All-District
Butler distance runners Andy Baker and Kent Wories have been named to the 2008-09 ESPN The Magazine District V All-Academic Track/Cross Country Team, selected by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). Each earned first team recognition on the honor squad, chosen from Division I athletes at schools in Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ontario and Manitoba.

Butler Cross Country Teams Receive Academic Recognition
The Butler men's and women's cross country teams have received All-Academic Team recognition from the U. S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Both Butler squads ranked among the top 50 cross country teams in the NCAA Division I in team grade point average.

Bulldogs Place 29th At NCAA National Meet
Senior Andy Baker earned All-America recognition for the second consecutive year and Butler wound up 29th in the team competition at the 2008 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championship held in Terre Haute on Monday (Nov. 24). Indiana State hosted the national meet, held at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course.

Butler Earns Cross Country National Meet Bid
Butler's strong performance at the 2008 Great Lakes Region men's cross country race has been rewarded with an at-large bid to the 2008 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championship on Monday, Nov. 24. The Bulldogs were one of 13 Division I teams to receive an at-large invitation to the national meet.

Andy Baker Leads Strong Butler Performance At NCAA Regionals
Senior All-American Andy Baker put on a dominant individual performance and helped lead Butler to a third place team finish at the 2008 Great Lakes Region Meet in West Lafayette on Saturday, Nov. 15. Butler's women, led by junior Marbeth Shiell, placed 26th at the regional competition.

Bulldogs Seek NCAA Bids At The Great Lakes Regional
Butler will face some of the top teams in the nation when it heads to West Lafayette, Ind., to compete for a national meet berth at the 2008 Great Lakes Regional on Saturday, Nov. 15. The regional qualifying meet, hosted by Purdue, will be held at the Purdue Varsity Cross Country Course. The women's 6K race is slated to start at 11 a.m., and will be followed by the men's 10K race at 11:45 a.m.
