Olivia Pratt Earns A-10 Honor
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Butler freshman Olivia Pratt, who picked
up an individual win in her first collegiate competition, has been
named Atlantic 10 Conference Cross Country Rookie of the Week for
the first week of the season. The league office announced its
weekly awards on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
Pratt won the women’s 4K race at the llini Challenge to
begin her Butler career. She paced the 65-runner field with a
sterling time of 14:18, finishing 29 seconds ahead of individual
runner-up Alyvia Clark of Loyola. The first place individual
finish helped Butler to a runner-up finish in the eight-team
meet.
Duquesne’s Jim Spisak was named the A-10 Men’s Cross
Country Performer of the Week, while Amber Valimont of Duquesne was
chosen A-10 Women’s Cross Country Performer of the
Week. Bob Gasior of Duquesne earned A-10 Men’s Rookie
of the Week honors. Spisak won the 8K race at the Duquesne
Duals with a time of 24:54, while Valimont captured the
women’s 5K title at the same meet with a time of 18:13.
Gasior finished fifth at the Duquesne Duals in 26:32.
