Dalton's Squad Clinches Fall Intrasquad Series

Jack Dillon

Senior Jack Dillon scored the winning run in the 9th inning to clinch Butler baseball's Fall World Series for the team coached by Michael Dalton.

Freshman Gunner Johnson was the winning pitcher. He was set up by senior Chase Byerly, who pitched 3.0 shutout innings and made a stab on a line drive that kept his team alive and sent the game to extra innings.

Dillon scored the game-winning run after being hit by a pitch. He was moved over when senior Bob Akin was also plunked and then newcomers Stephen Kelley and Nick Leer put down sacrifices.

Between the two teams, 10 Bulldog players had one hit each. The game's starting pitchers, Kyle Kramp and Eric Stout, were both effective in 3.0 innings.
