INDIANAPOLIS - Kevin Stenhouse drove in seven runs to lead Rhode Island to a 17-1 win over the Butler baseball team on Sunday.
Stenhouse, URI's rightfielder, went 4-for-6 and had three, two-run singles. He added an RBI single in the top of the 9th inning when Rhode Island scored nine runs.
Rhode Island starting pitcher Steve Moyers worked 5.0 easy innings for the win. He had a no-hitter going through 4.1 but ended up allowing two hits. Moyers worked five frames in 53 pitches. Brad Applin and Bobby Dean combined to allow one hit and one walk over the final 4.0 innings.
Junior Marcos Calderon went 2-for-3 and scored a run for Butler, which won against Rhode Island on Friday.
The Bulldogs (24-24, 11-10) have four regular season games remaining, all against teams from the city of Cincinnati. BU plays at UC Tuesday, May 14 and then hosts a series against Xavier.
