Title: Pitching Coach / Recruiting Coordinator
Phone: 317-940-6536

Miles Miller came to Butler in the fall of 2012, joining Steve Farley's staff as a volunteer assistant. This season he will serve as Butler's pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. Miller came to Butler after two seasons as an assistant at Philadelphia University.

Miller helped improve the Butler pitching staff during the 2013 season as the team ERA dropped from 6.74 in 2012 to 4.84 in 2013. Opponents batting averages went from .336 to .289 and the Bulldogs had two pitchers win seven games or more with Eric Stout leading the way with eight and Kyle Kramp close behind with seven. The wins leader on the 2012 staff was limited to just four.

Miller has now coached six pitchers that have been drafted - 1 in the first round – and 7 total have signed professional contracts.  Two have pitched in the World Baseball Classic.

While at Philadelphia University, Miller managed the pitching staff and was also named the team's recruiting coordinator. He was promoted to associate head coach just after the 2012 season.

Prior to his stint at Philadelphia, Miller was an assistant coach at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Conn. While at AMC, he worked with the team's infielders and one of his players was named all-conference.

Miller, a native of Tahoe City, Calif., has an extensive background in summer collegiate baseball. He recently was pitching coach for the Waterloo Bucks of the Northwoods League in 2012. He has also coached the New Bedford Bay Sox (NECBL) and the Torrington Titans (ACBL). At Torrington, Miller saw two of his pitchers be selected in the 2011 MLB Amateur Draft.

Miller played baseball at San Diego Mesa College and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Grand Canyon University in 2007. He also earned a master's degree in leadership from Grand Canyon in the fall of 2013.
