Milwaukee Slugs Past Butler
WIth Butler leading 5-0, Milwaukee scored 13 unanswered runs in the late innings to beat the Bulldog baseball team 13-5. Sixteen of UWM's 21 hits came in the 6th, 7th and 8th innings.

Milwaukee pounded 20 hits and got a good pitching start from Cale Tassi to beat the Butler baseball team 14-5 on Saturday afternoon at Bulldog Park.

The Butler baseball team tallied three runs in the bottom of the 9th but ran out of outs in a 7-3 loss to Milwaukee on Friday afternoon. Senior Mike Hoscheit went 2-for-2 with a walk to lead Butler.

The Butler baseball program has added three standout players from three different states during the spring signing period. Michael Kseniak, Chris Maranto and Dillan Souther will join BU's roster in the fall of 2012.

Senior infielder Griffin Richeson and junior pitcher Chase Byerly have been named CoSIDA Academic All-District. The two Bulldogs earned the honor for stellar work on the diamond and in the classroom.

Youngstown State Edges Dawgs 9-7
Youngstown State scored four runs with two outs in the top of the 6th to edge the Butler baseball team 9-7 on Sunday. Jason Shirley's two-run double was the key hit as YSU won the weekend series.

Eleven early runs - including a grand slam by senior Mike Hoscheit - helped the Butler baseball team bury Youngstown State 14-2 on Saturday afternoon. Nine of BU's 12 hits came in the first two innings as the Bulldogs cruised to an easy win.

Hladek Leads Team To Valley League Championship
Nick Hladek, who is entering his senior season as a catcher for the Butler baseball team, led his summer collegiate wood bat team to the Valley League Championship this summer. Hladek batted .333 for the Covington Lumberjacks, a summer team based in Covington, Va.
