Bulldogs Split Doubleheader vs. Buffalo

The Butler baseball team opened its home schedule with a doubleheader split against Buffalo Friday afternoon at Bulldog Park. The Dogs dropped game one, 9-1, but bounced back for a 9-2 win in the nightcap. Read Full Release [+]

Schedule change to Butler-Buffalo Series
The Butler-Buffalo series schedule has been changed due to impending weather in Indianapolis this weekend. The Bulldogs and Bulls will still attempt to play four games, but with doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s action from Bulldog Park will start at 1 p.m. and Saturday’s doubleheader will begin at 12 p.m. GameTracker will be available for all four games at ButlerSports.com.

Junior Grant Fillipitch went 2-for-4 with a double and a run but the Butler baseball team fell short, 3-1, Wednesday at Dayton.

Corey Moylan smacked an RBI single to left in the top of the 8th to push the Butler baseball team past Marian University, 1-0, Tuesday afternoon. Five Bulldog pitchers combined for the shutout.

Playing its fourth game in three days to open the season, the Butler baseball lost, 10-0, Sunday at USC-Upstate in South Carolina. BU finished the season-opening trip 1-3.

The Butler baseball team continued tournament play at Wofford Saturday afternoon, dropping a pair of games to the host Terriers. BU lost the first game, 7-2, and rallied late in the second before falling 14-9.

Butler Wins Season Opener, 9-3
Junior Jared Wagoner threw seven shutout innings and junior leadoff man Luke Duncan led the offense as the Butler baseball team won its season opener, 9-3, against NJIT. The game was the first of four in the season-opening weekend in South Carolina.
