Butler Baseball Announces All-1980s Team

Feb. 11, 2009

Indianapolis, Ind. - In conjunction with the upcoming 100th season of Bulldog baseball, head coach Steve Farley announced the Butler All-1980's Team, which recognizes former baseball players who played between 1980 and 1989.

"I'm grateful to former Butler Head Coach Scott Neat for his help in selecting the Butler 1980's All-Decade Baseball Team," Farley said. "Scott recruited and coached all of these fine student-athletes.

"Some of these players held school records at one time. The 1982 squad had a team batting average of .325 which is still a record, and, after 20 years, Bruce Stephens remains the BU season and career stolen base record-holder. The 1980 Bulldog team won the Heartland Collegiate Conference Championship."
