Bulldogs Strong In First Fall Tune-Up

Indianapolis, Ind. - The 2008 Butler baseball team got a taste of its first live game action of the season this past weekend as the Bulldogs hosted Sauk Valley (Ill.) Junior College in a wood bat scrimmage on Saturday (Sept. 22) at Bulldogs Park. Butler received some outstanding hitting performances and commanding pitching in claiming a 9-2 victory.

Sophomore Bobby Mosser was one of the top offensive performers for the Bulldogs, ripping a pair of doubles while driving in two runs. Newcomer Rahdric Dix provided speed on the base paths, claiming two steals and scoring twice, while freshman Jared Wagoner doubled and scored a run. Sophomore Garrett Curless and freshman Brian Bajer each added RBI singles.

On the mound, the Bulldogs had six pitchers work hitless innings, including senior Bryan Bokowy, juniors Evan DePotter, Ryan Kruszka, Joe Ochs and Tyler Tepe and sophomore Jamie Feldheiser.

Long Ball In The Fall
The Bulldogs will host their annual Long Ball In The Fall as a part of Homecoming Weekend on Saturday (Sept. 29) beginning at 10:00 a.m. Parents and alumni are all welcome to attend.
