Matt Howard, Michele Nash Tabbed Butler’s Top Athletes
Matt Howard, who ended his collegiate career in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball championship game, and Michele Nash, who helped the Bulldogs to their first NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship berth, have been named recipients of Butler’s Most Outstanding Athlete Award for 2010-11. The two were among four student-athletes recognized by the Butler athletic department with year-ending awards.

Shelvin Mack To Remain In NBA Draft

Shelvin Mack Declares For NBA Draft
Butler junior guard Shelvin Mack, who helped lead the Bulldogs to the NCAA Division I men’s basketball national championship game for a second straight year, has submitted the necessary paperwork to declare for this year’s National Basketball Association (NBA) Draft. He has not hired an agent and has followed all of the guidelines to retain his eligibility.

Bulldogs Finish As National Runner-up
For the second consecutive year, the Butler men’s basketball team is the national runner-up. Connecticut held the Bulldogs to 18.8 percent shooting and the Huskies defeated BU in the NCAA national title game, 53-41. Butler finishes the year 28-10.
