MyINDY-TV To Carry Ten Butler Men's Basketball Games

Indianapolis, IN – October 11, 2012 – Butler Basketball returns to MyINDY-TV 23 as the Bulldogs enter new territory with the Atlantic 10 Conference in 2012-13.  For the fifth season in a row, MyINDY-TV 23 brings Butler Bulldog Basketball to local television viewers all across Central Indiana, with ten (10) LIVE game broadcasts from the historic Hinkle Fieldhouse.

"We are pleased to welcome the Bulldogs back on MyINDY-TV 23 for a fifth season.  For the last four years, we have brought Butler Basketball into the homes of Central Indiana viewers as part of our continued commitment to quality local sports and event programming," said Jeff White, president and general manager of MyINDY-TV 23 and WISH-TV.  "We look forward to another successful season together."

In five seasons as Butler's head coach, Brad Stevens has compiled a record of success unmatched in NCAA annals. The 35-year-old Butler coach has led the Bulldogs to a 139-40 record, four Horizon League regular season championships, three league tournament titles and five trips to postseason tournament play. He owns the top two single season win totals in Butler and Horizon League history, and he's the only coach in school and league history to lead a team to the NCAA Division I national championship game, something he's done twice!

"We value our continued partnership with MyINDY-TV 23," said Brad Stevens, Butler head coach.  "Our fans enjoy watching the telecasts in HD from Hinkle."

Last season (2011-12), Stevens led a young Butler team to a 20-win season, a third place finish in the Horizon League regular season race and a return trip to postseason play. He helped the Bulldogs to the semifinals of the Horizon League Tournament and to the semifinals of the College Basketball Invitational.

Butler begins its official practice on Friday, with its exhibition opener on Saturday, October 27 vs. Marian.
