INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Sophomore Roosevelt Jones, who's game-winning shot lifted Butler past No. 8 Gonzaga in a nationally-televised game, has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player of the Week.  The weekly award, for games played Jan. 14-20, was released by the conference office on Monday (Jan. 21).

Jones, a 6-4 forward from O'Fallon, Ill., came up with a steal at midcourt in the closing seconds, drove toward the Bulldogs' basket and hit a "floater" from 10 feet out as the final buzzer sounded to give Butler a stunning 64-63 victory over visiting Gonzaga.  He wound up leading the Bulldogs with 20 points, while adding five rebounds, four assists, one blocked shot and one steal in the win.

The victory was Butler's third over over a team ranked in the "Top 10" this season.

Earlier in the week, Jones recorded his second double-double of the season, while helping Butler to a conference victory over Richmond.  He finished with 10 points, a game-high 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals.  The 12 rebounds matched his career-high.
Jones shared the league's weekly honor with Treveon Graham of VCU, who averaged 22.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in a pair of victories by the Rams.  Semaj Christon of Xavier was selected as the A-10 Rookie of the Week.

Butler will return to conference action at La Salle on Wednesday, Jan. 23.  The Bulldogs will have a home game against Temple on Saturday, Jan. 26.
