INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Brandon Polk scored 21 points to lead four Bulldogs in double figures as Butler beat Illinois-Chicago 75-56 Monday in a Horizon League game.
The Flames (8-6,1-1) led early at 4-2, but Horan drained a 3-pointer and Crone followed with a fast break layup that ignited an unanswered 16-point run as Butler took control of the game.
Butler shot 54.2 percent (13-of-24) from the field in the first half to take a 36-27 lead at the break. The Bulldogs then went on a 20-9 run over the first eight minutes of the second half and stretched that into a 33-17 run to lead by 23 with 5:18 left.
Othyus Jeffers scored 14 and Jovan Stefanov 10 for the Flames, who shot just 43.8 percent overall.
