MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - Dennis Trammell hit two free throws with four seconds left as he scored 22 points to lead Ball State to a 63-61 victory over Butler on Wednesday night.
The Cardinals led by as many as nine with less than a minute to go, but Sheets scored eight straight points, including consecutive 3-pointers, to close the game to 61-58 with six seconds left.
But Horan fouled Trammell on the next possession to set up the game-winning free throws. Trammell shot 8-of-12 from the field and hit all four of his foul shots.
Despite shooting only 37 percent for the game, Butler still managed to build a 29-25 lead at halftime. Although Bulldogs hit their last four 3-pointers to close the game, the Bulldogs finished just 8-of-29 from 3-point range.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals used back-to-back 3-pointers from Trammell and Darren Yates and 53 percent shooting to break up a 44-all tie with 8:05 left in game and open a seven-point lead.
