Butler Homecoming To Be Carried On MyINDY-TV
Central Indiana fans of Butler’s record-setting football
team will have a chance to see the Bulldogs’ Homecoming game
on television this fall. MyINDY-TV, channel 23, will bring
Butler Football to television viewers with a live broadcast of the
Bulldogs’ game against Morehead State on October 23 at 1:00
p.m.
“We take great pride that Butler University is in our
community,” said Jeff White, MyINDY-TV/WISH-TV, President and
General Manager. “We’re proud to be the home of
Butler basketball and now look forward to bringing fans LIVE
coverage of this year’s Homecoming football game.”
Under the direction of head coach Jeff Voris, the Bulldogs finished
their 2009 season as the Pioneer Football League (PFL) co-champions
and the Gridiron Classic champions. The Bulldogs finished the
2009 campaign with a school-record 11-1 final ledger.
“Homecoming at Butler is always one of the special Saturdays
on our schedule and with MyINDY-TV on campus it will be even
bigger,” Voris said. “Our program has made steady
progress over the last four seasons and has had many big
wins. MyINDY-TV televising our homecoming game is yet another
indication that our program is headed in the right
direction.”
Voris, who begins his fifth season as Butler’s head coach,
led the Bulldogs to unprecedented success last year. The
victory over Central Connecticut State in the Gridiron Classic was
Butler’s first postseason football win, and it completed the
school’s first 11-win season. The Bulldogs set a school
record for home victories (7) and tied the school record for
consecutive wins with a 9-0 start to the season. Butler also
tied PFL records for wins (11) and league wins (7).
MyINDY-TV is also home of Butler Basketball. After a
season that took them to the 2010 NCAA National Championship Game,
the Bulldogs return to MyINDY-TV, channel 23 for the third season
in a row.
MyINDY-TV, a My Network affiliate, is a sister station to
WISH-TV. MyINDY-TV broadcasts over-the-air on channel
23 and on channel 10 on most cable systems. A complete cable
listing can be found at www.INDYTV.com.
