Saturday Marks First Game At New Butler Bowl
Saturday, Sept.18 is a day Butler University student-athletes, coaches, administrators, alumni and fans have been looking forward to, as it will mark the official reopening of the Butler Bowl, which has undergone a massive renovation. The defending Pioneer Football League champion Bulldogs will take on Taylor in the home opener, with kickoff slated for 1 p.m.
A pregame ceremony will take place to officially open the new Butler Bowl with University President Dr. Bobby Fong and Athletic Director Barry Collier, among others. Prior to kickoff, Indiana Senator Richard Lugar will be in attendance to handle the coin toss duties. The Butler Marching Band will also perform before the game, so come early and stay to cheer on the Bulldogs!
Visitors to the Butler Bowl will be greeted with a chairback seating section that straddles the 50-yard line and general admission seating that stretches from goal line to goal line on the west side. A seating section on the east side of the Bowl was also added for visiting team fans. Also included in the construction project is a brand new brick press box that includes a media center, two radio booths, two coach’s boxes, a filming deck and a VIP hospitality area called the Champions Room.
The renovations to the Butler Bowl were made possible by funds raised through Bulldog Club donations and the ButlerRising capital campaign.
Reserved seats in the chairback section are available for $20, while general admission prices are $12 for adults and $8 for youth. Season tickets are still available in the reserved section for $95, while general admission adult season tickets are $55 and a youth GA ticket for the season is $30.
Bulldog Club hospitality will still be located in the Wildman Room at all football games for Bulldog Club members at the Bronze Level ($250+) or above.
2010 season schedule magnets (provided by St. Vincent Sports Performance) and Butler “expand-a-banners” (courtesy of the Hinkle Spirit Shop/University Bookstore) will be available for ticketholders as fans enter the Bowl.
The Butler Ticket Office will open at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets can also be purchased at Ticketmaster.
