Butler Finishes 16th At Dayton Flyer Invitational
DAYTON, OHIO -- Senior Colin Reenan shot a three-under-par 68 in the final round and climbed 50 spots in the individual competition at the Dayton Flyer Invitational, which wrapped up on Tuesday (Oct. 23). Butler wound up 16th in the final team standings.
Reenan, who shot a 79 in the opening round of the tournament, entered the final day in a tie for 62nd place in the individual standings. But he stormed past much of the field with his strong finishing performance and wound up in a tie for 12th place with a final total of 147. He was one of just six golfers to break par in the final round.
Sophopmore Andrew Eiler, who was tied for sixth after shooting an opening round 72, slipped to a tie for 27th place after carding a 78 (150) in the final round. Senior Andrew Wegeng tied for 59th with rounds of 76 and 80 (156), while sophomore Logan Holt tied for 91st place with rounds of 82 and 83 (165). Freshman Corbin Sellers tied for 93rd place with rounds of 85 and 82 (167).
Butler shot a team score of 309 on the opening day and then finished with a 308 for a 36-hole total of 617. Oakland captured the team title with a two-day total of 578.
The Bulldogs will close out their fall schedule in South Carolina at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate, Oct. 28-30.
