Butler Takes Dual Meet From Green Bay
AVON, IND. -- Freshman Brigham Stewart claimed individual honors and Butler posted a team win in a non-conference dual meet with Green Bay at Prestwick Country Club on Saturday, March 23. The dual match was a late addition to Butler's schedule.
Stewart paced the field with a one-under-par 71. He shot a sizzling 33 on the front nine and then closed with a 38 to claim individual honors by five strokes. Teammate Andrew Wegeng finished second with a four-over-par 76.
Logan Holt, playing as a member of Butler's scoring team, Corbin Sellers, playing as a non-scoring individual, and Green Bay's Gene Kiela III all tied for third place with rounds of 77.
Andrew Eiler tied for sixth with a 78 and Colin Reenan tied for eighth with an 81 to round out Butler's scoring squad.
Matt Vitale tied Reenan for eighth place with an 81 and Clark Etheridge finished 13th with a 92. Both played as non-scoring individuals.
Butler won the competition with a team score of 302, while Green Bay tallied 317.
The competition was scheduled as a prelude to the Butler Spring Invitational But the Butler tournament has been postponed due to winter weather expected in Indianapolis on Monday and Tuesday, March 25-26.
