Julian Cardona Named To Puerto Rico U21 National Team
Butler forward Julian Cardona has been selected
to the Puerto Rico U21 National Team Pool. The first-year
Butler player will compete with Puerto Rico in the Central American
and Caribbean Games this July in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

Butler’s second-leading scorer in 2009 with six goals and
three assists. He led the Horizon League in game-winning
goals (4), and he finished sixth in the league in scoring (15
points). The former Shattuck-St. Mary’s High School
player saw action in all 19 Butler matches last fall, including 11
as a starter, and he was named to the 2009 All-Freshman Team by
College Soccer News.
The Central American and Caribbean Games are a multi-sport regional
championship held every four years. The games are for teams
from Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico, Bermuda, Surinam,
Guyana, Columbia and Venezuela.
