Butler, Indiana Battle To Scoreless Tie
BLOOMINGTON, IND. -- Defense prevailed on both sides and Butler
had to settle for a 0-0 tie against host Indiana in a spring
men’s soccer match at Armstong Stadium on Friday night (April
6). The contest was part of Butler’s five-match spring
schedule.
Butler goalkeepers Andy Holte and Jon Dawson (right) faced an
Indiana attack that unleashed 16 shots, including seven shots on
goal. But the Butler defenders were up to the task.
Holte played the first half in net and came away with two
saves. Dawson went the final 45 minutes and turned away five
Indiana attempts.
Forward Austin Oldham led the Bulldogs’ attack with a pair
of shots on goal. Freshman Zach Steinberger had
Butler’s other scoring attempt.
The match was the first of four that the Bulldogs will play in
Indiana during April. Butler will host Saint Louis at the
Butler Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 7:30 p.m., in its next
outing.
