Butler-NKU Match Canceled
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Severe weather in central Indiana brought an early end to the Butler-Northern Kentucky men's soccer match at the Butler Bowl on Friday, Sept. 7. The non-conference contest was stopped because of lightning with just over six minutes remaining in the first half, and eventually cancelled.
The Bulldogs (1-0-2) had taken a 1-0 lead minutes earlier on Jordan Burt's first 2012 goal. Burt took a pass from teammate Austin Oldham and broke free in the middle of the field. Before Northern Kentucky's goalkeeper could close the gap, Burt fired a shot from 18 yards out to the left side of the net to give the Bulldogs the upper hand.
Butler left the field with a 4-2 advantage in shots and a 3-0 edge in corner kicks.
The match could be rescheduled at a later date.
