AKRON, OHIO -- Butler wound up placing second in the rugged Akron Tournament and the finish earned the Bulldogs three spots on the All-Tournament Team, when the four-team event concluded late Sunday night (Sept. 16).

Named to the 11-player Akron All-Tournament squad from Butler were junior Jordan Burt and sophomores Brandon Fricke and Zach Steinberger.  The trio helped Butler to ties against #11 South Florida and #10 St. John's.

Akron won the tournament, which feature three of the top 11 teams in the nation, with a 1-0-1 record.  Butler and St. John's both finished with a 0-0-2 mark, but the Bulldogs earned the second place nod based on goal differential.  South Florida wound up 0-1-1.

The two ties against nationally-ranked teams kept the Bulldogs unbeaten in regular season tournament play this season.  Butler has not been beaten in its last 20 regular season tournament contests.
