Jordan Burt Signs With Carolina RailHawks
Butler midfielder Jordan Burt will be continuing his soccer career on the professional level. A four-year starter for the Bulldogs, Burt has signed a contract to play for the Carolina RailHawks in the North American Soccer League (NASL).

Jon Dawson Joins Indy Eleven
Butler goalkeeper Jon Dawson won’t have to travel far to begin his professional soccer career. After wrapping up four successful seasons with the Bulldogs, Dawson has signed a contract to join the Indy Eleven in the North American Soccer League (NASL).

Bulldogs Add Six Men’s Soccer Recruits
Butler head coach Paul Snape has added five freshmen and one transfer to his 2014 roster, as the Bulldogs begin preparation for their second season in the BIG EAST Conference. The six newcomers represent four different states and the Republic of Cyprus.

Goldsmith, Steinberger Named to All-Region Team
Freshman David Goldsmith and junior Zach Steinberger were both named to the NSCAA/Continental Tire All-Region team from the Great Lakes region. Goldsmith was named to the second team and Steinberger to the third team.

Brandon Fricke Named Academic All-America
Junior Brandon Fricke has been honored as an Academic All-American. Fricke was one of 12 players chosen to the second team of the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America Division I Men’s Soccer Team, chosen by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Butler Wraps Up First Season in the BIG EAST
The 2013 Butler men’s soccer season came to an end last Friday night (Nov. 15) in Philadelphia with a 0-1 overtime loss to Marquette in the semifinal round of the BIG EAST Tournament. The Bulldogs finish the year with a record of 11-8-1 and 4-5 in BIG EAST play.

Steinberger, Goldsmith Earn All-Tournament Honors
Butler’s duo of junior Zach Steinberger and freshman David Goldsmith were among 11 players named to the All-Tournament Team at the 2013 BIG EAST Men’s Soccer Championship. The all-tournament team was released at the conclusion of the championship, won by Marquette on Sunday (Nov. 17) at PPL Park in Chester, Pa.

Freshman David Goldsmith was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Year and was selected to both the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team and the All-Conference second team. Junior Zach Steinberger was named first team All-Conference.

Fricke was on of just 11 players named to the 2013 PDL All-League Team, chosen from the league’s 64 teams and more than 1,200 players, and he was joined by Steinberger on the 2013 PDL Central Conference All-Conference Team.
