INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Junior Brandon Fricke has been named to the 11-player Capital One Academic All-District V University Division Men's Soccer Team, chosen by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).  He earned the academic honor for the second time in the past three years.

Fricke, a three-year starter for the Bulldogs, is an honor student majoring in Economics/Mechanical Engineering.  In addition to being named to the Capital One Academic All-District V team in 2011, he was named to the Atlantic 10 Conference Academic All-Conference Team a year ago.  He also was named to the Academic Honor Roll in both the Horizon League and the Atlantic 10 Conference, as well as the Butler Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

This season, Fricke has started all 16 matches for the Bulldogs, and he currently ranks seventh on squad in scoring with a pair of goals.  The Butler team captain has been a key defensive performer and has helped the Bulldogs record five shutouts.  He was named to the All-Tournament Team at the NIU adidas Invitational.

The 11 honored athletes from District V, which represents Division I schools from Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Michigan, will be considered with All-Academic picks from seven other districts for Academic All-America selection, which will be released later in November.
