Butler scored four times in the first 25 minutes and coasted home with a 4-0 victory over host Xavier in a non-league, men's soccer match at the Xavier University Soccer Complex on Sunday, Sept. 26. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Bulldogs and lifted coach Joe Sochacki's club to 6-3 on the season. Xavier fell to 2-6.
Senior David Wyrick notched the game-winner just over eight minutes into the match. He took a cross from junior John Mariscalco and fired a shot inside the far post. It was his third goal of the season.
The Bulldogs made it 2-0 four minutes later on a goal by senior Cory Edgington from the top of the box. Senior Andrew Pancio picked up his 16th career assist on the score. Pancio then scored an unassisted goal from the top of the box at 19:48 to make it 3-0.
