The Bulldogs used three second half goals to drop host Loyola, 3-0, Friday afternoon in Chicago. Sophomore John Mariscalco headed in a corner kick from Scott Olsen in the 67th minute to put the Bulldogs ahead for good. The tally was Mariscalco's sixth on the season. Cory Edgington and Andrew Pancio would add goals later in the match. Evan Reinhardt posted the shutout in goal, making two saves on the afternoon. The Bulldogs improve to 6-6-3 overall and 2-1-1 in Horizon League play, while the Ramblers fall to 5-6-2 (1-4).
Edgington's goal came in the 81st minute as his shot from 12 yards out banked in off the post. The goal was unassisted. The goal tied him with Mariscalco for the team lead in goals with six. Pancio would add his second goal of the season with less than three minutes to play when the Ramblers misplayed a clear, giving Pancio a shot from ten yards out.
Greg Stellatos took the loss for Loyola, allowing all three goals despite two saves. The Ramblers out-shot the Bulldogs, 11-9, but only put two shots on goal.
The Bulldogs return home for a match against Horizon League opponent Wright State Sunday. The match begins at 1 p.m. at Varsity Field on the Butler campus.
